Distraction

Knit me!

Last week my car went in the shop for new U-joints. This week, my camera went in the shop for routine, albeit at least 12 months tardy, maintenance.

I thought nothing about losing my car for four days. Didn’t bother me at all.

70,000 shots and still shooting!

But take my camera for seven days, and I’m a mess! This is pure torture!

Attack of the Dust Monster

We have big photographic plans for February, so the dust spots MUST be removed. This surgery is necessary. It’s a good thing. I can survive a week cameraless. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

Longs Peak lives forever

The Longs Peak Snowflake project I’ve been working on once in a while since last April and non-stop during November train commutes serves only to heighten the anxiety. It’s a beautiful project, but it feels like it’s never going to get done. I need a change. I need something fresh. I need something intense that can be done in a week or less.

I love Noro

So I pulled out the six skeins of Noro Kuryeon my friend Sandy gave me as leftovers after she finished a huge project last October. Six skeins is the exact amount of yarn Lanesplitter requires.

autumn's finest

I had never knit diagonally before, but it isn’t difficult at all. I have more trouble trying to keep track of which rows need to be purled. More than a few frogs have invited themselves to this party.

Nevertheless, my needles are purring, I’m visually and tactilely stimulated, and I’m learning a new technique. I love watching the colorway develop into what will be a great new addition to my wardrobe. I can’t wait to wear this!

Um, I can't wait to take pictures of this. With my beloved Nikon.

  3. Oh goodnessm a week without your camera. When I see the pictures you take (this past Snowflake Monday) I can bear the thought either. The pictures on that post are magnificent. How you capture nature. The snowflake pattern is also amazing. What talent and thank you for sharing.

  6. I knitted a Noro scarf, alternating colors and I loved it. Now I want to try diagonal knitting!

  7. That Noro yarn is gorgeous, I've not actually seen it in our LYS, I guess I should bite the bullet and just buy some online, the colours in all other projects I've seen are lovely.

I hope you are surviving without your camera, can't wait to see your new pics, dust free.

  8. Wow - what fantastic yarn. I've never used Noro - someday. I love the shot of motifs in a stack. The thread looks so satiny and the colours so enticing.

Can't wait to see your finished projects!
