Take a bow.
Someone smudged my feathers.
I think I ate too many seeds...

  5. What a pretty bird! Red, yellow and black are a great color combination, and this little bird wears it well :)

  10. The Tanager is one of my favorite birds but I've never been able to get good photos of one of them. Yours are wonderful! The last one is like a model posing for you. Are they from this year?

We had another small hint of spring yesterday evening. My favorite singing bird, the hermit thrush, serenaded me and the dogs during our evening hike. I love it.

  11. Awwww how cute and pretty they are :)

This last weekend I came upon some people having a small renaissance fair at a small castle. It did feel like I went back in time.

  12. Holy crap! That's some kinda bird. The colors are almost unreal- and the expression on its little face? I believe you pegged it perfectly. Wordless, indeed. This little tweetie bird has a few words for us :)

  14. Amazing ! I wish I could get closer to the birds that visit my yard. I also have old grungy double panes to try to shoot through as well... we occasionally get a scarlet tanager to pass through, not yet this year.

  15. Western Tanagers need to get real and come to the east coast already.

  16. I once saw a flock of these in Oregon--they were breath taking! But I didn't get to see them close up like these photos of yours!
