A new quarter, an old list, a renewed challenge. I went back and forth all last quarter trying to decide whether I should enlist in this quarter's Ravelry Quilters spring 2016 WIP challenge due to internet access issues. I finally decided to give it a go one more time because the challenge motivates me to finish projects. Perhaps I will be able to check in once a month or so to share encouragement and drool as I admire the finished projects of others. And perhaps I'll even have finished projects of my own once a month, if I can meet my own personal goal!
I finished only two quilts last quarter, but I completely finished piecing five different tops, one of which was a block-a-day project I started and finished during the winter. I also helped my 6-year-old neighbor make a panel quilt for her new baby brother, and we're still trying to finish up a matching quilt for her. Then there were taxes, this year's fund-raising snowflake pattern pdf booklet, a funeral, a wedding, a snow day, another snow day, and holy cow, another snow day!!! Woohoo! I had only two or three snow days in the first 19 years at my job, and now all of a sudden, for the last two years, we've been blessed. Absolutely blessed with tons of wonderful fluffy white stuff that provides plenty of down time to meet deadlines and accomplish goals!
However, I am ready for spring. My flowers are ready for spring. We'll probably get at least one or two more good-sized dumps, and one of them probably will land on Mother's Day. Again. But for now, at least it's melting fast, and the spring color is inspiring and exciting! Hopefully my bike won't keep me away from my sewing machine all quarter long.

DeleteThat's a colorful list of things to do!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shannon! I love color, so it's good to have a variety, in my opinion, to accommodate a range of creative moods. :)
