Snowflake Monday

I was scrolling through my unused (so far) snowflake inspiration two weeks ago to find something that set my imagination on fire for last week, and wowza, did this gem by Alexey Kljatov ever do the trick! Isn't it gorgeous?!?

I had no computer access last week as I tried to write this pattern. I had to write the first draft on my phone. Which was not fun. I had to tweak the pattern a bit when I pinned it, which took all 200 pins in the box I had with me!!! I'm hoping to finish off a couple more using the revised pattern so I can show off different ways to pin it. I just didn't have time last week.

Yet, Alexey's gorgeous flake is fun to study, challenging to interpret into crochet, and wonderful to imagine falling gently in much cooler temperatures than we've been enduring the past four or five months.

Come on, Snow!!! We need you!!!

You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!

Materials: Size 10 crochet thread, size 7 crochet hook, empty pizza box, wax paper or plastic wrap, cellophane tape, water soluble school glue or desired stiffener, water, glitter, small container for glue/water mixture, paintbrush, stick pins that won't be used later for sewing, clear thread or fishing line
