Snowflake Monday

I recently saw an amusing test to determine whether the reader is a yarn hoarder. I didn't even have to take the test. I already knew. Yes, I am a yarn hoarder.

But… am I a thread hoarder?!? Are you???

Don't feel alone if you are. Here's visual proof you are not alone and never have been!

For the record, I have crochet thread stashed all over my home, in the back seat of my car and at my desk at work. I don't think I've ever spent more on thread than on food because thread is not quite as expensive as yarn. I HAVE spent more on yarn than food. More than once. And I have bought thread, yarn and fabric instead of food. Because it was there. Or because the price was right. Or because they made me hungry for crocheting, knitting, sewing or quilting.

I've never had to hide my thread, my yarn, my fabric, my cameras or my camera batteries from my husband. And he never had to hide bike parts from me. Really cool aspect of our marriage. Everyone should try it. I've also never told anyone thread jumped into my shopping cart. Chocolate, yes. Thread, no.

I don't think I've ever received crochet thread for my birthday or for Christmas. Yarn, yes; sewing/quilting thread, yes. Crochet thread, no. BUT, I have been bequeathed crochet thread from many deceased loved ones, friends and relatives or friends of loved ones and friends.

I have many hanks, spools, skeins and cakes of thread without labels. I don't think any of them are a mystery, though. Each one brings back sweet memories. I should write them down one day so I don't forget.

I have three tubs/boxes of bulk white thread for dyeing. But, if I put all my thread in bins, I think I might be able to fill more than five big tubs.

If I ever spent more time with thread, yarn or fabric than I did with family, I have certainly made up for it this year. And that's not a complaint.

So, by my count, lucky 13 points. Yes, I'm an addict, and yes, I hoard. Proud of it. I hope my creations speak loudly of my motivation and dreams.

You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!

  1. You've got a nice stash! :-)

Yarn is like bread, wood and a good read essential to go into the weekend, into life.

    All the best!

  2. I'm in love with your snowflakes and would like to buy some pdf pattern books. What is currently available? And what is the best way to request which/ how many I'd like? Are they still available for donations to the charities? I saw that on a 2013 post. Thanks :)

  3. Ha! I got 6 points on that test. Didn't realize I had so much thread stashed around.

What a fun theme for a snowflake and post. Great snowflake too!
