Snowflake Monday

Back to making rocks for my garden. It's a little bit more exciting this time around because now kids throughout the neighborhood are walking by with their parents almost every day, and it's so fun to leave surprises they don't always notice the day or week I place them!

I set a goal two weeks ago to make a new rock covering every day. I've done 10 in 14 days, so not too bad. I'm going to try to keep up with the goal until all the naked rocks (formerly covered by crochet but stripped by hail) are duly covered.

The only reason I made a white snowflake today is because my mother-in-law asked for 80 snowflakes for her 80th birthday. I have until November. I haven't counted what I have done yet. All I can say is I'm not doing them all in two weeks like I did with 50 seven-pointed snowflakes for my parents' golden anniversary!!!

You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!

Wash paintbrush and container thoroughly. Allow snowflake to dry at least 24 hours. Remove pins. Gently peel snowflake from wax paper or plastic wrap. Attach 10-inch clear thread to one spoke, weaving in end. Wrap fishing line around tree branch (or tape to ceiling or any overhead surface) and watch snowflake twirl freely whenever you walk by! Snowflake also may be taped to window or tied to doorknob or cabinet handle.

  1. That is great for the kiddos to see as they are out and about more. 80 sure is quite the load. She'll have her own snow room now.

    1. I'm afraid to count, Pat. I'm afraid to find out I have to do a lot more than I think I do. So I'm just going to keep making flakes for a while, then hopefully when I count, I'm above the goal. :)
