Crack the WIP

On the bright side, I did more stitching this summer than I have in about the last eight summers. On the dark side, I started "sort of new" projects instead of finishing existing projects. Thankfully, though, I did finish a few flimsies, a quillow, a quilt that wasn't on my WIP list and some grandbaby gifts. Most important, I guess, is I had fun doing the sewing I did, even if I wasn't high on WIP finishes for the quarter.

Most of the new projects I started during the summer quarter involved Spoonflower fat quarter panels I designed. I was anxious to make things with them! Two more fat quarter panels remain untouched, but high on my list of inspirations I want to tackle.

Here are just a few of the baby things I managed to get done during the summer, mostly on the train while commuting to and from work.

And here's this quarter's too-long WIP list:

  1. You sure know how to get the projects done, or maybe started haha, my ocd would go nuts if I had a super long list of things to finish. The frogs are a nice little touch too I thought.

    1. Let's hope I can get a few done before Thanksgiving, Pat... I've modified my Christmas gift from 15 kid quilts to 8, hoping that's a little more realistic. Then I can get the other 7 (plus one new one due in January) done next year... Fingers crossed. Except while I'm stitching!

  2. Such adorable finished projects! I have that same issue... A bunch of WIPs to finish, but I am always drawn to starting something new! It's a problem. LOL! You have some gorgeous WIPs to finish too. All of those pictures are lovely eye candy!

    1. Thank you, Christine! I'm happy to know I'm not the only one with an out-of-control WIP list, but I'm also happy almost all the quilts I plan to give away for Christmas this year are finished flimsies ready to quilt. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

  5. That is not a "too-long WIP list" - it's an amazing testimonial to your awesome and unbounded creativity! And a sad confirmation that there just aren't enough hours in the day.

The baby things are adorable. Don't you love all the fun buttons out there? :)
