Hearts of Gold

(affiliate links to my fabric designs)

Finally! After three months of focusing mostly on training for this month's MS-150, I finally had a rainy, thundery, lightning-spiked evening to finish up this quilt top! One of my favorites of all time!

Thanks to the inspirations for this quilt top...

I designed some coordinating Spoonflower fabrics!

I worked up my fanciest border yet for a mini quilt top from one of my fat quarter panels!!! I rarely piece with white because the seams show through, but I think the white really makes the color pop in this gem.

Another of my most favorite projects of all time!

  1. Awesome when you complete a project and it's one of the best and favorite you have. Great feeling indeed.

    1. Thanks, Pat! I like these two so much, I actually can't wait to begin quilting them! But I think the little one is going to get one or two more borders so it will be big enough for a little niece or nephew this Christmas...

  2. So cute! I also like that little mini. Mostly the show-through will disappear if you use white batting. That border is worth it!

    1. Thanks, Mari! I was hoping the white batting might help hide the seams. I was even considering sticking white fleece in the center to see if that would cure the visual distraction...

    1. Thanks, Melody! The big one is one of my favorites because it chased away painful memories back in June just when I needed it most. This one will always have a special place in my heart, even if I end up giving it away.

    1. Thanks, Sue! I might have to send you one of the panels to see what you can come up with; I never did do that with the Quilted Skies panel, did I???
